Head of Communication

EWB-SWE and Openhack are growing organisations in need of further external visibility. As part of a strategic expansion, we add to our group of staff a common resource - Head of Communication.

Engineers Without Borders Sweden (EWB-SWE) is a Non-Governmental Organisation striving to make a long-term impact in the work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With our engineering expertise, we are active both in Sweden and abroad through international projects, to solve engineering challenges related to inequality and global development. Through humanitarian engineering, we engage, inspire and unite people to build a sustainable future.

Openhack is a social company and collaborative community where ideas and knowledge are exchanged and built upon, in order to solve pressing societal challenges through open source development. Through collaboration with both governmental and non-governmental organisations as well as private actors Openhack aims to provide a platform for digital volunteership. Our virtual and physical hackathons serve as the foundation of our community where innovations are sparked to life. As a daughter company of EWB-SWE, Openhack is registered as a limited company with restricted profit (AB svb).

We are looking forward to welcome a Head of Communication to our team of staff who will lead, coordinate and develop our internal- and external communications. Your work will encompass both long-term planning and development of communication plans and strategies, day-to-day execution of activities and communications, and development of internal processes for improved external communication. You will be part of both EWB-SWE and Openhack and thereby play a key role in the strategic decision to let the two organisations come closer to each other and increase both strategic and operational collaboration. You will work in close cooperation with the Secretary General of EWB-SWE, the CEO of Openhack, the Boards of the two organisations, our Head of Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising, as well as with our international projects and local groups and teams spread across Sweden.

We are looking for a communicative team player who is able to work independently and strategically, who shares the values of EWB-SWE and Openhack, and who is interested in developing our organizations further. We believe that you have some experience from work with similar tasks, potentially from the non-profit or volunteer based sectors. You have good communication skills in Swedish and English.

The role as our Head of Communication is a part time employment at around 60%. Location is flexible, though we have small (yet) one-person offices in Falun and Gothenburg. The salary is according to agreement, and starting time is flexible.
