Head of Engineer to Engineer Malmö

Are you interested in Engineers Without Borders and want to engage in something meaningful? Then you should apply for this volunteer position as Head of the Engineer to Engineer Group in Malmö.

Engineer to Engineer (E2E) is a project within Engineers Without Borders, focusing on the integration of newly arrived and asylum-seeking academics into the Swedish job market. There is a gap between employed, Swedish-born, and non-employed foreign-born. This gap is mostly caused by a lack of contacts. In Malmö, we aim to bridge that gap by giving our participants the platform to create their own network by meeting Swedish professionals within their field. In addition to this, we want to help provide all the tools necessary to increase the chances of getting noticed by an employer. This is mostly done through our events, such as case workshops, recruiting fairs, interview training, study visits etc.

Main responsibilities:

  • Be part of the E2E Malmö Leadership Group and develop and improve E2E’s strategy, vision and goals.
  • Build up and be responsible for the internal development of the whole E2E Malmö team, including:
    • Planning team building activities (at least twice a year, e.g. one during spring and one during the fall).
    • Administrate internal communication channels like Google Drive and Slack.
    • Guide new members in the general internal working and communication processes.
  • Be an active part of Engineers Without Borders Sweden and participate in national monthly meetings with other E2E Chapters in Sweden.
  • Look to find new partnerships wherever it benefits the organization and E2E.

As a volunteer you will be given the opportunity to:

  • Act in a creative environment with a large degree of freedom to innovate, supported by a well-established organisation and management team.
  • Build invaluable connections both within Sweden and abroad.
  • Develop your leadership and communication skills.
  • Help your community.
  • Gain new contacts, both with our volunteers and collaborating companies and organisations.

We believe that the right candidate has:

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of the Swedish job market.
  • Previous experience with project management and/or leadership.
  • The ability of building and motivating a team.
  • International experience is an advantage.

The Head of E2E should be able to contribute with 2-4 hours of work per week.

[As with all volunteer positions within Engineers Without Borders Malmö, this position is unpaid]

Apply as soon as possible but by latest May 30th, we are looking forward to your application!
