Event Planning Volunteer
We usually respond within a week
Engineer to Engineer(E2E) is a project within Engineers Without Border that focuses on the integration of newly arrived and asylum-seeking academics onto the Swedish job market. There is a gap between employed, Swedish-born, and employed foreign-born. This gap is mostly caused by a lack of contacts. In Uppsala, we aim to bridge that gap by giving our participants the platform to create their own network by meeting Swedish professionals within their field. In addition to this, we want to give all the tools necessary to increase the chances of getting noticed by an employer. This is mostly done through our events; such as case workshops, recruiting fairs, interview training, study visits etc.
This is where you come in! As a part of the event group you would:
- In project groups plan, execute and evaluate events
- Attend weekly meeting with all of E2E Uppsala
- Contribute with your own ideas for events and on how to improve E2E as a whole
We are looking for curious, driven and open minded people. E2E is an open project, where your own initiative is always welcome and there is a lot of opportunity to take on more responsibility.
As a volunteer you will be given the opportunity to:
- Help your community
- Get new contacts, both with our volunteers and collaborating companies
- Try a leading role in an event group
Engineers Without Borders Sweden is promoting equality and inclusivity. We are strengthened by our differences. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply for the position, regardless of gender, age, ethnic background, religion, disability or sexual orientation.

Volunteer
We have a passionate and experienced volunteer network of professionals and students who help make a difference and influence our work. Explore our volunteer opportunities and see how you can contribute with your range of skills, experience and knowledge directly into our activities. There is no requirement for an engineering degree, everyone is needed, and all are welcome. -
Be part of inspiring children
Sweden currently has a shortage of engineers, a profession that historically has been a very homogenous group. Because of this, EWB-SWE inform and inspire children to seek an education in engineering or technology. This is accomplished by assisting students with their studies, acting as role-models, and showing a non-conventional perspective on science, technology and engineering. -
Personal development
Develop your leadership and technology skills by participating in the seminars and activities we organize. -
Be part of our network
By getting involved, you become part of an extensive network of talented people. We are not just engineers - everyone is needed, and everyone is welcome! We are located all over Sweden with our groups in 8 different cities.
