Engineers Without Borders Sweden is a volunteer based and value driven organization Engineering for Humanity. For over 15 years, we have been driven by a single goal: build a sustainable future for communities around the world. With sustainability and long-term thinking as guidance, we mobilize our engineering expertise to provide innovative solutions empowering communities today and ensure their resilience tomorrow.
Engineers without Borders in Malmö is aimed at professionals, regardless of subject area. Anyone who wants to participate and contribute to a better world is welcome to get involved with us. The local group in Malmö is starting up a new international project and are therefore looking for a Project Manager to take on this important responsibility.
Our international projects strive to achieve sustainable and long-term positive impact, for local communities in low-income areas and the earth as a whole. Our international projects are always carried out in collaboration with local grass-root organisations and we strive to empower the local communities where projects are implemented.
We focus on energy, waste management, water, sanitation, food production and processing and digitalization in low-income areas. Many initiatives are connected to schools and aim to improve the quality of education, and some are related to the health sector. We engage exclusively in projects with potential to contribute to long-term positive development and only in safe and conflict-free areas.
As International Project Manager for Healthy Hospital Tanzania, you are responsible for the complete progress of the project, from the contact with the local team in Tanzania to driving funding needs and reporting project progress to the national Engineers Without Boarders Project Committee.
During 2015-2017 a project was done to improve the infrastructure of a hospital in Tanzania. New energy supply with solar power and water purification system was two of the most important improvements done. You will be part of the local group in Malmö for support and have the opportunity to shape your own project team based on need.
Most important is that you are interested in the work done by Engineers Without Boarders and want a significant role in that work. For this role we value experience with project management or similar roles. Experience with international humanitarian work and solar energy systems is additionally qualifying.
You have the ability to inspire and enthuse others, and you stand by our key values: curiosity, equality, inclusivity, sustainability.
