The Uppsala local group of EWB-SWE targets both students and professionals, regardless of the subject area. Those passionate about contributing to a more sustainable world are welcome to join us.
No prior experience within EWB-SWE is required to apply for this role, if you thrive under the banner of freedom with responsibility then it is perfect for you! [As with all volunteer positions within EWB-SWE, this position is unpaid]
As Group Leader you have the responsibility over Engineers Without Borders in Uppsala as a whole. Your main task is to manage the leading group, which means that you, for example, hold recurring meetings, take part in everyone's development within their role, coordinate our work and so much more. You have some assignments that are the same every year but the role also offers a lot of room for personal flair and freedom in everything you do. It is important that you can maintain close relations with every person in your leading group, but specifically, you work closely with the Vice Group Leader as you two together make sure to 'steer the boat' in your wanted direction.
Other than the work carried out within Engineers Without Borders Uppsala you also have close contact with most parts of our national board to help each other out. There are also monthly meetings being held nationally with every Group Leader in Sweden which you get to take a part of.
The Group Leader role offers you the possibility to experiment in regards to what works for you as a leader. It is a tremendous opportunity for the person that wants to take their leadership to the next levels.
The entry applies for the Autumn term 2022 and Spring term 2023. The work starts with a transition period during May 2022 with you officially taking over as of 22-08-01, with regular work starting in early September 2022. During the transition period, you will get a good knowledge of EWB-SWE, with a big part of getting assistance from and working closely with the current volunteer. It is convenient if you study or work in Uppsala and can attend in-person meetings. Most importantly, you should have a genuine interest in the organization and aspire to make it even better.
Apply by 22-04-29, 23:59!
