Are you interested in Engineers Without Borders and want to engage in something meaningful?
THEN YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR The Event group of E2E Uppsala
Engineers Without Borders local group in Uppsala targets both students and professionals, regardless of subject area. Everyone who wants to contribute to a better world is welcome to join us, without any requirements of prior experience.
Role description
Engineer to Engineer(E2E) is a project within Engineers Without Border that focuses on the integration of newly arrived and asylum-seeking academics onto the Swedish job market. There is a gap between employed, Swedish-born, and employed foreign-born. This gap is mostly caused by a lack of contacts. In Uppsala, we aim to bridge that gap by giving our participants the platform to create their own network by meeting Swedish professionals within their field. In addition to this, we want to give all the tools necessary to increase the chances of getting noticed by an employer. This is mostly done through our events; such as case workshops, recruiting fairs, interview training, study visits etc.
This is where you come in! As a part of the event group you would:
- In project groups plan, execute, and evaluate events
- Attend weekly meeting with all of E2E Uppsala
- Contribute with your own ideas for events and on how to improve E2E as a whole
We are looking for curious, driven and open-minded people. E2E is an open project, where your own initiative is always welcome and there is opportunity to take on more responsibility.
As a volunteer, you will be given the opportunity to:
- Help your community
- Get new contacts, both with our volunteers and collaborating companies
- Try a leading role in an event group
The last day to apply is 20th of January and the engagement work starts at the latest on the 25th of January. As with all volunteer positions within Engineers without borders Uppsala, this position is unpaid.
We are looking forward to your application!
