Background
EWB-SWE enables and executes complex engineering projects in support to communities around the world. We enable such projects with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning processes supported by a MEL team
The MEL team makes sure that the effort of volunteers and local partners and the contributions from the donors generate the best possible value for the communities we serve.
About the position
As member of the MEL Team you will contribute to every step of all our International Projects: we help project teams and local partners...
- in securing they aim at important and achievable goals, with attention to short&long term impacts and sustainability
- in setting relevant indicators before they start executing
- in monitoring their progress towards the goals during execution
- in evaluating the results of their project
Also, you will help the whole EWB-SWE organization learning from past projects, to the benefit of future ones.
You will be member of a distributed team eager to help and to learn. You will learn about the communities we help, and about the many things that can be done for them with passion, technology and funding. You will help securing the beneficiaries of our project gets the full value from the effort of our volunteers. You will also help us evolving our MEL posture, making it better and better.
Working in MEL team means:
- joining decision/discussion meetings with other members of EWB-SWE or with the local partners close to the communities we support
- reviewing/commenting/improving documents in support to the Project Life-cycle
Please do not apply if you do not think you can dedicate a minimum of 3 hours per week to this work.
Experiences and skills that will help you in this role:
- Experience in working with MEL for NGOs or humanitarian projects
- Passion for Sustainable Development Goals: you want to help making them happen
- Experience in Project Management, project metrics and in general in helping complex projects towards success
- Capability to work based on partial or ambiguous information, and to simplify complexity
- Eagerness to help proactively
- Team spirit: we like progressing together rather than succeeding individually
